Fuel chips
Chips are crushed wood biomass with a certain particle size, used as technological raw materials or fuel.
Production of wood chips: obtained by grinding wood raw materials using chippers and special devices.
Chips GOST 17462-84 (Products of the logging industry. Terms and definitions) was introduced to replace GOST 17462-77.
Technological chips GOST 15815-83 - chips for pulp and paper and hydrolysis industries, production of particle boards and fiberboards. Depending on the products made from technological chips, the permissible content of different types of wood in them is established (coniferous: pine chips; deciduous species: oak, birch chips).
Fuel chips are wood chips for the production of thermal energy. Unlike process chips, there are no general requirements for fuel chips. Wood fuel chips are produced by processing wood raw materials: stem wood, wood processing waste, wood processing waste. In general, speaking about the advantages of fuel chips over other alternative fuels, we can note: uninterrupted production, ease of use, low ash content.
