Sapozhnikova prostrate is a perennial herbaceous plant that is used in folk medicine as an antispasmodic, expectorant, analgesic, wound-healing, and antipyretic.
The root of the plant is vertical and long. The stem branches strongly from the base. The leaves are doubly pinnate, with wedge-shaped lobes. The ovary has transverse outgrowths, which almost completely disappear on mature fruits.
The entire plant is pale green in color and its height can reach 80 centimeters. Shoemaker blooms in July–August. The plant can be found in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, as well as in Asian countries. Sapozhnikoviya grows among bushes, on fallow lands, edges, dry, open slopes.
Dried parts of the plant (stems, fruits, leaves, roots) are widely used in traditional Chinese, Tibetan, and Mongolian medicine.
In folk medicine, the root of the plant is most often used. The medicinal effect of shoemaker's plant is explained by the presence of a large number of biologically active substances in its composition.
