The station is designed for stepless electrical control of the speed or torque of a single or multi-motor drive of a belt conveyor and supplying power to all auxiliary devices of the conveyor. The conveyor can be located in underground mine workings that are hazardous in terms of gas and coal dust, and not hazardous in terms of explosions of gas, steam or coal dust, on the surface of mines, open pits, quarries and pits. The station is connected electrical equipment, has explosion protection marking [Ex ia ap is] 1 X and can be installed on the surface of mines or pits outside explosive zones. Intrinsically safe electrical circuits and circuits of fiber-optic communication systems extending from the station can be connected to intrinsically safe electrical circuits and circuits of fiber-optic communication systems laid in underground workings of mines and mines

The station performs the following main functions:

  • monitoring and control of speed 0"100% and torque 0"100%, connected electric motors of belt conveyor drives from nominal values;
  • protection of electric motors (conveyor drive and additional equipment) and cables feeding them from short circuit currents, overload, overheating and phase loss, stalling and failed start, as well as zero protection;
  • protection of conveyor drive electric motors and the cables feeding them from switching on voltage when the insulation resistance relative to the ground is reduced; the total shutdown time of protection against short circuit currents is no more than 0.2 s;
  • protection of the outgoing electrical network from current leakage to the ground;
  • protection against short circuit currents by automatic switches;
  • automatic control of the operating mode of asynchronous motors of conveyor drives, based on commands to turn on or off from the conveyor line control system;
  • diagnostics of the state of internal and external circuits;
  • visualization and diagnostics of the state of control, monitoring and protection equipment;
  • transmission of data on the operation of the station and controlled electric motors via Ethernet via a fiber-optic communication line;
  • data transmission via intrinsically safe RS-485 interface ModBus protocol
